Captive flock of Spoon-billed Sandpipers arrive from Russia

A ‘flock’ of 13 Critically Endangered Spoon-billed Sandpipers have arrived at Heathrow from Russia en route to WWT Slimbirdge where it’s hoped they will form the nucleus of a breeding programme for eventual release back onto the East-Asian Australasian Flyway.
