Yesterday evening saw me back at Immortal Art Studio for bird number four to be tattooed onto my right arm sleeve (bird number fifteen in total). The bird to test the superb skills of Richard Batey was the ever enigmatic Pallid Scops Owl (aka Striated Scops Owl aka Bruce’s Scops Owl). This species was one of the many highlights of my trip to Turkey last year. Having missed it on the first attempt I managed amazing views on the second attempt. A truly superb bird

I think Richard Batey has excelled himself with this one; certainly one of my favourites!
